Aussie Rules player sent to the stands for dangerous haircut

In the Premier League there are many ways someone can be sent off. Dangerous tackles, flying elbows, mouthing off to officials but in Australian Rules football Nathan van Someren was sent of for a dangerous ... haircut!!!
The Simpson Tigers midfielder was sent to the touchline after a quarter of an hour of the third quarter after umpire Don Wheadon deemed the hairstyle dangerous and might poke another players eye out.
The midfielder who has had the hairstyle for over three years was said to have have been shocked at the decision.
When questioned about the incident the umpiring general manager Gerard Ryan admitted the umpire was wrong to have sent the player off the field. We are not sure what influence this had over the final result or whether van Someren had a new hairstyle for their next match.
