Sunderland v FULHAM

Title Defence 1

Fulham hold the title after an emphatic victory over Bolton Wanderers on Wednesday.
The 3-0 victory not only handed then the 'Unofficial Premier League' title but also ensured Premier League football at the Cottage next season, in fact, I may be wrong but Fulham are undefeated since the unveiling of the Michael Jackson statue. Maybe Mark Hughes told his players "Don't stop til we've got enough" but now they have they want to be starting something by continuing their form until the end of season.
One thing Fulham can aim for is European Football via the fair play league. England find themselves in second place in the UEFA Fair Play League and the top three countries get an extra place in the Europa League and it looks to be between Fulham and Blackpool for the extra spot so if I were Fulham I'd be happy with survival and not tackle anyone then its a second European campaign in three seasons for Fulham.

Sunderland have their problems. They are in the relegation mix, although a few more points will see them safe but they have a problem. No strikers. The injury sustained by Asamoah Gyan mean't all their strikers are out and possibly out for the season. Will Steve Bruce play a 4-6-0 formation tomorrow!!

The last time these two sides met at the Stadium of Light it finished 0-0 and I don't like predicting these results, especially for the Fulham fans making the long trek up north but I can see a repeat. If it ends a draw it could mean survival for Sunderland and Fulham another step closer to European football.

Head 2 Head: Sunderland 20 wins, 15 draws, Fulham 14 wins
Last meeting (@ Stadium Of Light): 28/02/10 - Sunderland 0-0 Fulham
Best odds: Sunderland 13/8 (Bluesq) Draw 23/10 (Stan James) Fulham 2/1 (Victor Chandler)
Prediction: 0-0 17/2 (Stan James) *own goals don't count if you back no goalscorer
