Barry Ferguson Retires From International Football

Some say it happened ages ago but today Barry Ferguson told Scotland boss Craig Levein he intends to retire from International Football to concetrate on his club career.


The Birmingham midfielder famous for "Boozegate" during George Burleys reign was told by Levein he would be considered for selection for the up coming Eurpean Qualifiers but Ferguson has told Levein he doesnt want to be selected.


Ferguson, 32, played 45 matches for Scotland making his debut in 1998 against Lithuania and scored 3 goals but was banned from the international scene in April 2008 after pictures emerged of him and goalkeeper Alan McGregor sticking two fingers up behind the managers back
