Perch Flees The Forest To Become A Magpie

Worldwide Football understands Newcastle United have completed their first signing of the summer signing 24 year old defender James Perch from Nottingham Forest today for an undisclosed fee.
The Magpies, who return to the Premier League this season have been looking to strengthen their squad to avoid an immediate drop back to the Championship and have been after Perch for a while.
This comes as we also hear Nicky Butt has left Newcastle, bringing questions as to whether this will be his retirement from football.
Perch is a versatile player as he can also play in midfield as well as in goal and is sure to be an excellent addition to the Newcastle squad.
Manager Chris Hughton has finally landed his man as he had a bid rejected by Billy Davies in the January transfer window but their failure to go up and Perch entering the final year of his contract made the transfer inevitable.

James Perch Career:
2004-2010 Nottingham Forest 190 apps (12 goals)
