World Cup Final Preview

After 2 years of qualifying and 6 matches at the finals we are finally down to the last two teams left in the World Cup.
Its an all European affair, Holland v Spain and looking back you have to say these two have been the most impressive in the tournament.
England, Brazil, and Argentina didn't get anywhere near their expectations, the African flag was left limp after the group stages with only one nation, Ghana left in the competition.  France and Italy went out in the group stages and the politicians in France and Nigeria threatened to get involved to see why there teams performed so badly and should Spain win the trophy on Sunday we will have only one undefeated team in the tournament, yep, NEW ZEALAND

Spain are in their first ever World Cup final and after a defeat in their opening match against Switzerland where they severely under performed people were wondering whether they would actually get as far as the knockout stages.
There hero so far has to be David Villa, the Barcelona hitman has scored most of Spain's goals while his strike partner, Fernando Torres has struggled with form which saw him dropped to the bench for the Semi-Final against Germany.
In midfield Iniesta and Xavi have been in inspirational form taking a firm grip of the midfield battles and setting up many of Spain's attacks.
Spain seem to have hit form at just the right time and they will feel they are now ready to add the World Cup to the European title they won in 2008.

Holland have won every game in the tournament and before the finals began you would have thought Robin Van Persie would've been the man to get all of Hollands headlines in fact it has been Wesley Snijder who has grabbed most of the goals and credit in the tournament, so much so there is now transfer speculation saying he is destined to join Manchester United, something both he and Inter Milan have knocked back saying he is very happy at the San Siro.
There Semi-Final against Uruguay was an absolute classic and the Dutch will also feel it is their right to claim the title as they have goals in midfield and attack and have pushed everyone in their way to one side in emphatic fashion.

Whatever happens all we know are 3 things, a new name will be going onto the trophy this year, whoever wins will become the first European nation to win the World Cup outside of Europe and finally its going to be a fantastic match.
