Andy Carroll Signs For Liverpool

WorldwideFootball  can confirm Andy Carroll has become Liverpool's record transfer after he joined from Newcastle United for around £35m.
With Fernando Torres heading south to Chelsea, manager Kenny Dalglish decided Carroll was the man to fill the Spanish strikers boots.
Carroll has adapted to life in the Premier League scoring 11 goals so far this season and was also called up to the England squad and scored against Belarus in September.
Carroll has had off field problems this season but on the pitch Carroll has shown he is a prolific striker and a move to Liverpool will only enhance his growing reputation.
The 22 year old has signed a five year contract and has been given the number 9 shirt.  Although he has been suffering with injury its not known whether he could make his debut away to Chelsea at the weekend.

2007-2008 - Preston North End (loan) - 11 apps (1 goal)
