Blackpool Sign Morroco International

WorldwideFootball understands Blackpool have signed Moroccan international left back Salaheddine Sbai from French club Nimes on an initial 6 month deal with the option of another 12 months.


With Stephen Crainey out with ankle ligament damage and David Carney away with Australia on Asian Cup duty Blackpool manager Ian Holloway needed cover for left back and see's the Moroccon as the ideal cover to help keep the tangerines in the Premier League.


Sbai started his career in Belguim where he made 41 appearances for Charleroi before moving to Nimes in 2009.  Although not a regular for Nimes, Sbai still managed to appear 14 times for Les Crocodiles before his move to Blackpool was finalised today.


The left back will be hoping the move to the Premier League will enhance his reputation and be able to add to the two caps he has already recieved for Morocco.


Blackpool have already recieved international clearance so Sbai could make his debut next Wednesday when West Ham travel to Bloomfield Road for their Premier League clash.

2005 - Ronse (loan) - 5 apps
2005-2007 - Tuvbize (loan) - 48 apps (1 goal)
2009-2010 - Nimes - 14 apps
