Demba Ba Joins West Ham

Fee: Undisclosed

Senegal striker Demba Ba has joined Premier League side West Ham United for an undisclosed fee.
It was thought Ba, 25 would be heading for a multi-million pound move to Stoke City until he failed a medical last week but West Ham, who have been chasing the player for a while have decided to not only sign the striker but also make it a permanent transfer and not the loan as originally planed.
Ba, capped 8 times by his country had been on strike at Hoffenheim after the German club decided he wasn't allowed to move clubs but the offer West Ham put forward, which includes additional fees after appearances was satisfactory enough for the club to decide it was time to sell the striker.
After scoring 37 goals in 97 appearances for Hoffenheim, West Ham manager Avram Grant will be hoping Ba will settle into the Premier League quickly to start scoring the goals to ensure survival for the Hammers who currently find themselves languishing at the bottom of the table.
After signing Ba, Wayne Bridge and Gary O'Neil, West Ham are expected to sign more players before the transfer window closes at 11pm on Monday.

Demba Ba's career:

2005-2006 - Rouen - 26 apps (22 goals)
2006-2007 - Mouscron - 12 apps (8 goals)
2007-2011 - 1899 Hoffenheim - 97 apps (37 goals)
